Annual Service of Remembrance

100th Anniversary of the First World War Armistice - November 1918

The annual Adlington and District Remembrance Service will be held this year on Sunday 11th November.

There will be a procession of Civic Leaders and Youth Organisations from Adlington Community Centre commencing at 2:00pm, parading to St. Paul’s Parish Church for a Service of Remembrance starting at 2:30pm then followed by a wreath laying ceremony at the war memorial on Railway Road at approximately 3:20pm.

Members of the public are invited to attend either one or both parts of the event. It is anticipated that as this is the 100th anniversary of the ending of hostilities in the First World War there will be a large turnout of people and it may not be possible to accommodate everyone in the church. There will be additional space available in the church club at the rear of the church building to which the service will be relayed. Any ex-military veterans who wish to join the returning parade from the church to the cenotaph would be most welcome.
